After having breakfast at the hotel, we complete our check-out procedures and leave the hotel, heading towards Kavala. Kavala, one of the most important centers of Western Thrace, has a history dating back to the 600s BC. The city, founded by immigrants from Thasos Island in Greece under the name Neapolis (New City), was part of the Ottoman Empire from 1387 until 1912. Today, a large portion of the city's population consists of Greeks. Notably, during the population exchange in 1923, Greeks from Cappadocia were settled here. Upon our arrival in Kavala, we begin our panoramic city tour. Places to visit and see in Kavala include the Old Town, known as Panagia. On our way to the old town, the first place we will see is the Church of Saint Nicholas. Built in 1530 by Suleiman the Magnificent for Ibrahim Pasha, the mosque was converted into a church in 1926 when its minaret was shortened and transformed into a bell tower, with Christian mosaics added to it. Other historical places we will see during our tour include Kavala Castle, the house of Mehmet Ali Pasha of Kavala, the imaret currently used as a hotel, the aqueduct, and the old town inside the castle. After our city tour of Kavala, we head to Porto Lagos. We will walk on the bridge built over Lake Vistonida to visit the Agios Nikolaos Church. After a photo break with a view of the lake, we move towards the Kipi Border Gate of Greece. Upon arrival, we complete our passport and customs procedures and have the opportunity for free shop shopping before heading to the Ipsala Border Gate. After passport and customs procedures, we proceed to Istanbul via the Keşan - Tekirdağ - Silivri highway. Following our meal break in Tekirdağ (where we will have the chance to taste the famous Tekirdağ meatballs), we continue our journey to Istanbul. After arriving in Istanbul, we drop off our guests at designated points in the tour program (on the return route) and conclude our tour. We hope to meet again in our next organizations...
