Meeting at the Aegean Airlines counter at the International Departures Terminal of Istanbul Airport at 1:30 PM. After passport, check-in, and baggage procedures, we will depart for Heraklion on Aegean Air flight A3435 at 4:00 PM. Arrival in Heraklion at 5:30 PM local time. Our special vehicle waiting at the airport will transfer us to our hotel. Upon arrival, after completing hotel check-in procedures, settle into the rooms and have some free time. You can take advantage of the hotel's amenities and enjoy the sea throughout the day. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast, there will be free time for personal activities and shopping. Guests who wish can join the extra "Heraklion City Tour & Knossos & Archanes Village Tour" organized by their guide. After breakfast, we meet with our guide and begin our tour. We set off for the Heraklion City Tour. Upon arriving in Heraklion, we start our tour from Plateia Elefterias, exploring the history and cultural richness of Crete. Notable stops on this tour will include the Agios Titos Church, known as a sacred site carrying the traces of history, the grandeur of the Agios Minas Cathedral, and the historical texture of the Ottoman Bon Marche Building. These special sites we visit are among the important structures that reflect the rich cultural fabric of Crete. After visiting the Valide Sultan Mosque Fountain, the Evkaf Building, and the buildings that reflect Crete's historical significance and carry the traces of the past, we will visit one of the important structures from the Venetian period, the Venetian Loggias, which will present us with the Venetian influences as a historical building. One of the most impressive moments of this tour will be the Venetian Harbor and shipyards. After the city tour, we will have free time to taste local delicacies and relax. Then we will head towards the Knossos Archaeological Site. This tour is designed for you to discover the ancient and traditional face of Crete. We will visit the Knossos Palace and the historic Archanes Village during our tour. The Knossos Palace, built in 2000 BC and known as the capital of the Minoan Kingdom, is a magical structure. After our visit to the palace, we will head to Archanes Village. This charming Cretan village is famous for its streets and houses that still preserve the traditional lifestyle. By experiencing the Cretan culture and way of life on-site, you will better understand the spirit of the island. After free time, we return to our hotel.
